Inspire and Be Inspired

Today is the second day of  Raya! Most people are spending their holiday with family and friends in this special occasion. Yesterday, I saw a bunch of foreigner (guessing they are either from Indonesia or Bangladesh) in the public transport, all get dressed-up nicely and tidy to enjoy the first day of holiday!.

Have a sudden thought of how wonderful, if I were to be the same like them to have holiday with family for a special vacation together again. Since the day I came back from Labuan until now almost a month time, I have never had a chance to even eat with whole family together. Anyway, I still need to work on this holiday.

Currently, I am working in a toys shop "PHOENIX COLLECTIBLES". This shop is basically selling hot toys and sideshow toys which are made from Hong Kong and US. There are various types of toy such as Spiderman, Superman, Predator, Iron man, General Zod and many more of the figures you might be familiar with, perhaps they are one of your favourite character too? This job is an easy going job, what I needed to do is mainly to stay in the shop and wait for people to come in.( such a lifeless job). Yeah, is quite lifeless and I am bored to hell now. Luckily, they provided me wifi, so that I can access to internet just to fill up my time when there is no customer. Many people tend to ask, especially all my friends that come over and when they look at the price, they automatically will started to ask me " what!? you kidding me? This little toys can get up to RM100? You must be crazy! Got people buy one ah?" All kind of reaction and questions they will make after they saw all the prices. HAHA. All this toys is for two types of people to buy, first is those who really like the figure of it. Mostly they started during teenagers time, around 12years old an above.( For sure they have no financial problem and which their parents are afford to buy for their wants). Other than that, they are surely the second types which is they buy all figures for keeping purpose to invest for some benefit. They make this toys as an investment, in hoping they can sell to others in a much higher prices in future. Some may even says that it is better of buying this toys than going for clubbing or smoking, which is a good hobbies and investment for their life. Different people has different kind of perspective towards all these toys. In my opinion, if you are happy in doing things that you like and it will not affect other people, then why not?

By the way, now I would like to share something about a video that I had watched in youtube. This video has more or less inspired me and I think is good for us to reflect and practice this together in making the better world to live. There are two young man was searching for two unemployed people for a shooting. They found men, one black and one white. This two unemployed men are required to arm wrestle and see who wins. The winners is rewarded a 100 dollar. (but they are not told the loser is going to have a 50dollar too). After telling the rules of the game and reward of it, they started the challenge. At the end, the black man has won the game and being rewarded the 100 dollar! Who knows, soon after he got the 100 dollar, he then give his 50 dollar to the white man. The white man was reluctant to accept it at first, because he accepted the facts that he has lose the match, but the black man insisted to give him the money. This is what I am really inspired of. How many people are willing to give the others when they have got the money, if you were the black man, will you give you 50 dollar to the white? That man don't even have a money, he even told the two young men that the most he will get to beg is 6 dollar a day. Imagine, he could have get a better clothes or even eat better after getting the 100 dollar. But he choose to share the half of it to the other person. This shows that, there is still love, courage and compassion people that live in this world and he had showed us that it's possible to have a win win situation. The world is enough resources for the man in this earth, but not the greed of a man". Every day is a day to inspire and be inspired.

Selamat Hari Raya

On the way to work, had a conversation with the taxi driver.

Me: hey, tak balik kampung?
Taxi driver: Tak balik kampung nie. Tahun ni buat kat rumah di Puchong.
Me: Oh, Puchong dekat je. Kampung kat mane? knapa tak balik Kampung?
Taxi driver: Sebab semua adik-beradik pun tinggal kat KL, lebih senang. Klau balik, kena jam lagi.
Me: Bgus tu. Saya kena kerja lgi.. Semua kawan sedang cuti.
Taxi driver: ok jugak. Raya banyak customer, orang banyak shopping.

One of the big reason why people "balik Kampung" is because they wanted to visit the old one. Your father and mother or your grandfather and grandmother. Usually with their existence, going hometown is a must, because you don't always go back for no reason. You will take this opportunity to go back to the place because they are still around. But once they are no longer exist, balik kampung just seems lacking of something. Is something we call" home". Some may no longer taking this chance or opportunity to go back for this special occasion with your family. I am not trying to emphasize on whether you are going back or not. What I am trying to say is that the balik kampung feeling will be different when they are not around. No matter how, whether the old one still alive or not. Take this opportunity to go home for them. I know, its not possible for some people, due to they have to work for a living and there may be some other reasons where you can't go back for it, but at least a call or even a message of wishing can make them happy. Treasure your family and friends when you are still alive, because you may never know when are you leaving this world.

Therefore, whether you are balik kampung or not, or you still need to work on this holiday, enjoy your day and have a great day! Wishing everyone Selamat Hari Raya, especially for the Malays!:)

Every stories behind

Had a chat with my boss this morning. He shared about how his friend had influenced him all the way when he was in high school back then. He was dealing with anxiety, where he was extremely afraid of people around him and he was refused to make friends with all the classmates when he was in his lower form( form 1 until form 3) back then. Despite of that, he met a friend, without knowing the reason why he doesn't afraid of being friend with him. He told me that that friend was the only friend who he can ever accepted at that time and when they hanged out together, the friend was the only one who will talked by himself and laughed by himself. My boss will remained silent all the time seeing that fellow laughing at his own jokes all the time. That friend has brought a big impact to my boss's life, because of his friend's effort, my boss started to open-up his heart to accept the people around him and he even started to make friends with them. I could feel how grateful my boss towards his friend that had help him when he was at the most suffer times, regardless of how he treated him from the past. He may have ignored him, but his friend had never once giving up to cheer up him, until he was fully recovered and became a cheerful person. Since then, their friendship's bond stronger and still counting on. From his story, it reminding me that each and everyone of us have our own stories in life, regardless of whether we are in the state of happy moment or we are feeling sad at the moment, you must believe that everything happens for a reason. You are born to be happy. Despite all the suffering, it can bring you to be a better person. When you are suffer, you have got the chance to understand others, when others are experiencing the same situation or same state of mind. You may be able to help out the person who are dealing with the similar suffer. Only with that, we have that compassionate heart, we learnt to care for others, we learnt to help others when they are needed. Life is full of happiness when each and everyone of us started to care for others and help each others. Only through a sincere dialogue, we can understand more about someone's deep in the heart, breaking the invisible wall in our heart, to open-up and gain that trust in between. With this, can make make a better and happy world.

So, let's start to dialogue with a friend today!:)

Seeds of hope

Time flies. The last post was posted during the first sem for first week of orientation and settled down in Labuan. Now, is already the second sem and sooner to say hello for second year in UMS. Studying in a university is still a dream, which I never even thought of it and it seems like I'm still in dreaming in a flash of an eye. Everything seems going on too fast that I can't feel how great is this environment and how much I am growing to be a better person.

Currently, we are doing an exhibition "Seeds of Hope" in UMSKAL. We have some well-trained narrators from students in UMS to bring out the essence of the exhibition to the whole UMS student as well as lecturers and staffs. " It starts with one" is the theme of the exhibition. "You may never know what the outcome will be with your action. But, if you do nothing, there will be no changes."quotes from Mahatma gandhi.

I have joined this exhibition for twice being a narrator. Every time I narrate, I have different thought and feeling. It is  really a great exhibition that encourages us to never give up on doing the right things. Only through perseverance and working tremendously hard that enables us to achieve our goals. Not only that, only through success that we can be the inspiration for others to strive for a better living.

Through all these activities, it does inspire me to work better, to stive and start to take action on taking challenges in life.  Therefore, today is the last day of exhibition to bring out the "hope" to each and everyone in UMSKAL.
